Luke 5:1-26:

"One day as Jesus was preaching on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, great crowds pressed in on him to listen to the word of God.  He noticed two empty boats at the water's edge, for the fishermen had left them and were washing their nets.  Stepping into one of the boats, Jesus asked Simon, its owner, to push it out into the water.  So he sat in the boat and taught the crowds from there.
When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Now go out where it is deeper, and let down your nets to catch some fish."
"Master", Simon replied, "we worked hard all last night and didn't catch a thing.  But if you say so, I'll let the nets down again.  And this time their nets were so full of fish they began to tear! A shout for help brought their partners in the other boat, and soon both boats were filled with fish and on the verge of sinking.
When Simon Peter realized what had happened, he fell to his knees before Jesus and said, "Oh, Lord, please leave me - I'm too much of a sinner to be around you." For he was awestruck by the number of fish they had caught, as were the others with him.  His partners, James and John, the sons of Zebedee, were also amazed.
Jesus replied to Simon, "Don't be afraid! From now on you'll be fishing for people! And as soon as they landed, they left everything and followed Jesus.

In one of the villages, Jesus met a man with advanced case of leprosy.  When the man saw Jesus, he bowed with his face to the ground, begging to be healed.  "Lord," he said, "if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean."
Jesus reached out and touched him.  "I am willing," he said.  "Be healed!" And instantly the leprosy disappeared.  Then Jesus instructed him not to tell anyone what had happened.  He said, "Go to the priest and let him examine you.  Take along the offering required in the law of Moses for those who have been healed of leprosy.  This will be a public testimony that you have been cleansed.
But despite Jesus' instructions, the report of his power spread even faster, and vast crowds came to hear him preach and to be healed of their diseases.  But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer.

One day while Jesus was teaching, some Pharisees and teachers of religious law were sitting nearby.  (It seemed that these men showed up from every village in all Galilee and Judea, as well from Jerusalem.) And the Lord's healing power was strongly with Jesus.
Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a sleeping mat.  They tried to take him inside to Jesus, but they couldn't reach him because of the crowd.  So they went up to the roof and took off some tiles.  Then they lowered the sick man on his mat down into the crowd, right in front of Jesus.  Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the man, "Young man, your sins are forgiven."
But the Pharisees and teachers of religious law said to themselves, Who does he think he is? That's blasphemy! Only God can forgive sins!"
Jesus knew what they were thinking, so he asked them, "Why do you question this in your hearts? Is it easier to say 'Your sins are forgiven,' or 'Stand up and walk'? So I will prove to you that the Son of Man has the authority on earth to forgive sins.  Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed man and said, "Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!"
And immediately, as everyone watched, the man jumped up, picked up his mat, and went home praising God.  Everyone was gripped with the great wonder and awe, and they praised God, exclaiming, "We have seen amazing things today!"

3.  "When Jospeh was taken to Egypt by the Ishmaelites traders, he was purchased by Potiphar, an Egyptian officer.  Potiphar was captain of the guard for Pharaoh, the king of Egypt.  The LORD was with Joseph, so he succeeded in everything he did as he served in the home of his Egyptian master."

4.  "Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble person of a slave and was born as a human being."

5.  "Potiphar noticed this and realized that the LORD was with Joseph, giving him success in everything he did."

Judges 7:

"So Jerub-baal (that is, Gideon) and his army got up early and went as far as the spring of Harod.  The armies of Midian were camped north of them in the valley near the hill of Moreh.  The LORD said to Gideon, "You have too many warriors with you.  If I let all of you fight the Midianites, the Israelites will boast to me that they saved themselves by their own strength.  Therefore, tell the people, 'Whoever is timid or afraid may leave this mountain and go home.' " So 22,000 of them went home, leaving only 10,000 who were willing to fight.
But the LORD told Gideon, "There are still too many! Bring them down to the spring, and I will test them to determine who will go with you and who will not." When Gideon took his warriors down to the water, the LORD told him, "Divide the men into two groups.  In one group put all those who cup water in their hands and lap it up with their tongues like dogs.  In the other group put all those who kneel down and drink water with their mouths in the stream." Only 300 men of the men drank from their hands.  All the others got down on their knees and drank with their mouths in the stream.
The LORD told Gideon, "With these 300 men I will rescue you and give you victory over the Midianites.  Send all the others home." So Gideon collected the provisions and rams' horns of the other warriors and sent them home.  But he kept the 300 men with him.
The Midianite camp was in the valley just below Gideon.  That night the LORD said, "Get up! Go down into the Midianite camp, for I have given you victory over them! But if you are afraid to attack, go down to the camp with your servant Purah.  Listen what the Midianites are saying, and you will be greatly encouraged.  Then you will be eager to attack."
So Gideon took Purah and went down to the edge of the enemy camp.  The armies of Midian, Amalek, and the people of the east had settled in the valley like a swarm of locusts.  Their camels were like grains of sand on the seashore - too many to count! Gideon crept up just as a man was telling his companion about a dream.  The man said, "I has this dream, and in my dream a loaf of barley bread came tumbling down into the Midianite camp.  It hit a tent, turned it over, and knocked it flat!"
His companion answered, "Your dream can mean only one thing - God has given Gideon son Joash, the Israelite, victory over Midian and all its allies!"
When Gideon heard the dream and its interpretation, he bowed in worship before the LORD.  Then he returned to the Israelite camp and shouted, "Get up! For the LORD has given you victory over the Midianite hordes!" He divided the 300 men into three groups and gave each men a ram's horn and a clay jar with a torch in it.
Then he said to them, "Keep your eyes on me.  When I come to the edge of the camp, do just as I do.  As soon as I and those with me blow the rams' horns, blow your horns, too, all around the entire camp, and shout, 'For the LORD and for Gideon!"
It was just after midnight, after the changing of the guard, when Gideon and the 100 men with him reached the edge of the Midianite camp.  Suddenly, they blew the rams' horns and broke their clay jars.  Then all three groups blew their horns and broke their jars.  They held the blazing torches in their left hands and the horns in their right hands, and they all shouted, A sword for the LORD and for Gideon!"
Each man stood at his position around the camp and watched as all the Midianites rushed around in a panic, shouting as they ran to escape.  When the 300 Israelites blew their rams' horns, the LORD caused the warriors in the camp to fight against each other with their swords.  Those who were not killed fled to places as far as Beth-shittah near Zererah and to the border of Abel-meholah near Tabbath.
Then Gideon sent for the warriors of Naphtali, Asher, and Manasseh, who joined in chasing the army of Midian.  Gideon also sent messengers throughout the hill country of Ephraim, saying, "Come down to attack the Midianites.  Cut them off at the shallow crossings of the Jordan River at
Beth-barah."
So all the men of Ephraim did as they were told.  They captured Oreb and Zeeb, the two Midianite commanders, killing Oreb at the rock of Oreb, and Zeeb at the winepress of Zeeb.  And they continued to chase the Midianites.  Afterward the Israelites brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon, who was by the Jordan River."

2 Kings 6:8-23:

"When the king of Aram was at war with Israel, he would confer with his officers and say, "We will mobilize our forces at such and such a place."
But immediately Elisha, the man of God, would warn the king of Israel, "Do not go near that place, for the Arameans are planning to mobilize their troops there." So the king of Israel would send word to the place indicated by the man of God.  Time and again Elisha warned the king, so that he would be on alert there.
The king of Aram became very upset over this.  He called his officers together and demanded, "Which of you is the traitor? Who has been informing the king of Israel of my plans?"
It's not us, my lord the king," one of the officers replied.  "Elisha, the prophet in Israel, tells the king of Israel even the words you speak in the privacy of your bedroom!"
"Go and find out where he is," the king commanded, "so I can send troops to seize him."
And the report came back: "Elisha is at Dothan." So one night the king of Aram sent a great army with many chariots and horses to surround the city.
When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses and chariots everywhere.  "Oh, sir, what will we do now? the young man cried to Elisha.
"Don't be afraid!" Elisha told him.  "For there are more on our side than on theirs!" Then Elisha prayed, "O LORD, open his eyes and let him see!" The LORD opened the young man's eyes and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.
As the Aramean army advanced toward him, Elisha prayed, "O LORD, please make them blind." So the LORD struck them with blindness as Elisha had asked.
Then Elisha went out and told them, "You have come the wrong way! This isn't the right city! Follow me, and I will take you to the man you are looking for." And he led them to the city of Samaria.
As soon as they had entered Samaria, Elisha prayed, "O LORD, now open their eyes and let them see." So the LORD opened their eyes, and they discovered that they were in the middle of Samaria.
When the king of Israel saw them, he shouted to Elisha, "My father, should I kill them? Should I kill them?"
"Of course not!" Elisha replied.  "Do we kill prisoners of war? Give them food and drink and send them home again to their master."
So the king made a great feast for them and then sent them home to their master.  After that, the Aramean raiders stayed away from the land of Israel."

12.  "What will I do?" the owner asked himself.  'I know! I'll send my cherished son.  Surely they will respect him."

 2 Kings 5:1-19:

"The king of Aram had great admiration for Naaman, the commander of his army, because through him the LORD had given Aram great victories.  But though Naaman was a mighty warrior, he suffered from leprosy.
At this time Aramean raiders had invaded the land of Israel, and among their captives was a young girl who had been given to Naaman's wife as a maid.  One day the girl said to her mistress, "I wish my master would go to see the prophet in Samaria.  He would heal him of his leoprosy."
So Naaman told the king what the young girl from Israel had said.  "Go and visit the prophet," the king of Aram told him.  "I will send a letter of introduction for you to take to the king of Israel." So Naaman started out, carrying as gifts 750 pounds of silver, 150 pounds of gold, and ten sets of clothing.  The letter to the king of Israel said: "With this letter I present my servant Naaman.  I want you to heal him of his leprosy."
When the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes in dismay and said, "This man sends me a leper to heal! Am I God, that I can give life and take it away? I can see that he's just trying to pick a fight with me."
But when Elisha, the man of God, heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes in dismay, he sent this message to him: "Why are you so upset? Send Naaman to me, and he will learn that there is a true prophet here in Israel."
So Naaman went with his horses and chariots and waited at the door of Elisha's house.  But Elisha sent a messenger out to him with this message.  "Go and wash yourself seven times in the Jordan River.  Then your skin will be restored, and you will be healed of your leprosy."
But Naaman became angry and stalked away.  "I thought he would certainly come out to meet me!" he said.  "I expected him to wave his hand over the leprosy and call on the name of the LORD his God and heal me! Aren't the rivers of Damascus, the Abana and the Pharpar, better than any of the rivers of Israel? Why shouldn't I wash in them and be healed?" So Naaman turned and went away in a rage.
But his officers tried to reason with him and said, "Sir, if the prophet had told you to do something very difficult, wouldn't you have done it? So you should certainly obey him when he says simply, 'Go and wash and be cured!' " So Naaman went down to the Jordan River and dipped himself seven times, as the man of God had instructed him.  And his skin became as healthy as the skin of a young child, and he was healed!
Then Naaman and his entire party went back to find the man of God.  They stood before him, and Naaman said, "Now I know there is no God in all the world except in Israel.  So please accept a gift from your servant.
But Elisha replied, "As surely as the LORD lives, whom I serve, I will not accept any gifts." And though Naaman urged him to take the gift, Elisha refused.
Then Naaman, said, "All right, but please allow me to load two of my mules with earth from this place, and I will take it back home with me.  From now on I will never again offer burnt offerings or sacrifices to any other god except the LORD.  However, may the LORD pardon me in this one thing: When my master the king goes into the temple of the god Rimmon to worship there and leans on my arm, may the LORD pardon me when I bow too."
"Go in peace," Elisha said.  So Naaman started home again."

John 6:1-15:

"After this, Jesus crossed over to the far side of the Sea of Galilee, also known as the Sea of Tiberias.  A huge crowd kept following him wherever he went, because they saw his miraculous signs as he healed the sick.  Then Jesus climbed a hill and sat down with his disciples around him.  (It was nearly time for the Jewish Passover celebration.) Jesus soon saw a huge crowd of people coming to look for him.  Turning to Philip, he asked, "Where can we buy bread to feed all these people?" He was testing Philip, for he already knew what he was going to do.
Philip replied, "Even if we worked for months, we wouldn't have enough money to feed them!"   Then Andrew, Simon Peter's brother spoke up.  "There is a young boy here with five barley loaves and two fish.  But what good is that with this huge crowd?"  "Tell everyone to sit down," Jesus said.  So they all sat down on the grassy slopes.  (The men alone numbered about 5,000.) Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks to God, and distributed them to the people.  Afterward he did the same with the fish.  And they all ate as much as they wanted.  After everyone was full, Jesus told his disciples, "Now gather the left overs, so that nothing is wasted.  So they picked up the pieces and filled twelve baskets with scraps left by the people who had eaten from the five barley loaves.  When the people saw him do this miraculous sign, they exclaimed, "Surely, he is the Prophet we have been expecting!" When Jesus saw that they were ready to force him to be their king, he slipped away into the hills by himself."

Matthew 14:22-33:

"Immediately after this, Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and cross to the other side of the lake, while he sent the people home.  After sending them home, he went up into the hills by himself to pray.  Night fell while he was there alone.  Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves.  About three 'o clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water.  When the disciples saw him walking in the water, they were terrified.  In their fear, they cried out, "It's a ghost!" But Jesus spoke to them at once.  "Don't be afraid," he said.  "Take courage.  I am here!" Then Peter called to him, "Lord, if it's really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water."  "Yes, come," Jesus said.  So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.  But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink.  "Save me, Lord!" he shouted. Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him.  "You have so little faith," Jesus said. "Why did you doubt me?"  When they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped.  Then the disciples worshiped him.  "You really are the Son of God!” they exclaimed."

Luke 19:1-10:

"Jesus entered Jericho and made his way through the town.  There was a man there named Zacchaeus.  He was the chief tax collector in the region, and he had become very rich.  He tried to get a look at Jesus, but he was too short to see over the crowd.  So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree beside the road, for Jesus was going to pass that way.
When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name.  "Zacchaeus!" he said. "Quick, came down! I must be a guest in your home today."
Zacchaeus quickly climbed down and took Jesus to his house in great excitement and joy.  But the people were displeased.  "He has gone to be the guest of a notorious sinner," they grumbled.                                                                                                                                                           Meanwhile, Zacchaeus stood before the Lord and said, "I will give half of my wealth to the poor, Lord and if I have cheated people on their taxes, I will give them back four times as much!"                                                                                                                                                                               Jesus responded, "Salvation has come to his home today, for this man has shown himself to be a true son of Abraham.  For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost."

A.  Philippians 3:
B.  Hebrews 13:
C.  Mark 11:
D.  Romans 9:
E.  John 10:
John 11:1-44:

"A man named Lazarus was sick.  He lived in Bethany with his sisters, Mary and Martha.  This is the Mary who later poured the expensive perfume on the Lord's feet and wiped them with her hair.  Her brother, Lazarus, was sick.  So the two sisters sent a message to Jesus telling him, "Lord, your dear friend is very sick."
But when Jesus heard about it he said, "Lazarus's sickness will not end in death.  No, it happened for the glory of God so that the Son of God will receive glory from this." So although Jesus loved Martha, Mary, and Lazarus, he stayed where he was for the next two days.  Finally, he said to his disciples, "Let's go back to Judea."
But his disciples objected.  "Rabbi," they said, "only a few days ago the people in Judea were trying to stone you.  Are you going there again?"
Jesus replied, "There are twelve hours of daylight every day.  During the day people can walk safely.  They can see because they have the light of this world.  But at night there is danger of stumbling because they have no light." Then he said, "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but now I will go and wake him up."
The disciples said, "Lord, if he is sleeping, he will soon get better!" They thought Jesus meant Lazarus was simply sleeping, but Jesus meant Lazarus had died.
So he told them plainly, "Lazarus is dead.  And for your sakes, I'm glad I wasn't there, for now you will really believe.  Come, let's go see him."
Thomas, nicknamed the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, "Let's go, too - and die with Jesus."
"When Jesus arrived at Bethany, he was told Lazarus had already been in his grave for four days.  Bethany was only a few miles down the road from Jerusalem, and many of the people had come to console Martha and Mary in their loss.  When Martha got word that Jesus was coming, she went to meet him.  But Mary stayed in the house.  Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died.  But even now I know that God will give you whatever you ask."
Jesus told her, "Your brother will rise again."
"Yes," Martha said, "he will rise when everyone else rises at the last day."
Jesus told her, "I am the resurrection and life.  Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.  Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never die.  Do you believe this, Martha?"
"Yes, Lord," she told him.  "I have always believed you are the Messiah, the Son of God, the one who has come into the world from God." Then she returned to Mary.  She called Mary aside from the mourners and told her, "The Teacher is here and wants to see you." So Mary immediately went to him.
Jesus had stayed outside the village, at the place where Martha met him.  When the people who were at the house consoling Mary saw her leave so hastily, they assumed she was going to Lazarus's grave to weep.  So they followed her there.  When Mary arrives and saw Jesus, she fell at his feet and said, "Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died."                                                        When Jesus saw her weeping and saw the other people wailing with her, a deep anger welled up within him, and he was deeply troubled.  "Where have you put him?" he asked them.                     They told him, "Lord, come and see." Then Jesus wept.  The people who were standing nearby said, "See how much he loved him!" But some said, "This man healed a blind man.  Couldn't he have kept Lazarus from dying?"
Jesus was still angry as he arrived at the tomb, a cave with a stone rolled across its entrance.  Roll the stone aside, " Jesus told them.
But Martha, the dead man's sister, protested, "Lord, he has been dead for days.  The smell will be terrible."
Jesus responded, "Didn't I tell you that you would see God's glory if you believe?" So they rolled the stone aside.  Then Jesus looked up to heaven and said, "Father, thank you for hearing me.  You always hear me, but I said it loud for the sake of all these people standing here, so that they will believe you sent me." Then Jesus shouted, "Lazarus, come out!" And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in graveclothes, his face wrapped in a headcloth.  Jesus told them, "Unwrap him and let him go!"

Scriptures of the day!!

1.  Joshua 6:

2.  Psalm 119:

3.  John 14:
Acts 16:16-40:

"One day as we were going down to the place of prayer, we met a slave girl who had a spirit that enabled her to tell the future.  She earned a lot of money for her masters by telling fortunes.  She followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, "These men are servants of the Most High God, and they have come to tell you how to be saved."
This went on day after day until Paul got so exasperated that he turned and said to the demon within her, "I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her." And instantly it left her.
Her masters' hopes of wealth were now shattered, so they grabbed Paul and Silas and dragged them before the authorities at the marketplace.  "The whole city is in an uproar because of these Jews!" they shouted to the city officials.  "They are teaching customs that are illegal for us Romans to practice."
A mob quickly formed against Paul and Silas, and the city officials ordered them stripped and beaten with wooden rods.  They were severely beaten, and then they were thrown into prison.  The jailer was ordered to make sure they didn't escape.  So the jailer put them into the inner dungeon and clamped their feet in the stocks.
Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening.  Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations.  All the doors immediately flew opened, and the chains of every prisoner fell off! The jailer woke up to see the prison doors wide open.  He assumed the prisoners had escaped, so he drew his sword to kill himself.  But Paul shouted to him, "Stop! Don't kill yourself! We are all here!"
The jailer called for lights and ran to the dungeon and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas.  Then he brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.  And they shared the word of the Lord with him and with all who lived in his household.  Even at that hour of the night, the jailer cared for them and washed their wounds.  Then he and everyone in his household were immediately baptized.  He brought them into his house and set a meal before them, and he and his entire household rejoiced because they all believed in God.
The next morning the city officials sent the police to tell the jailer, "Let those men go!"
So the jailer told Paul, "The city officials have said you and Silas are free to leave.  Go in peace."
But Paul replied, "They have publicly beaten us without a trial and put us in prison - and we are Roman citizens.  So now they want us to leave secretly? Certainly not! Let them come themselves to release us!"
When the police reported this, the city officials were alarmed to learn that Paul and Silas were Roman citizens.  So they came to the jail and apologized to them.  Then they brought them out and begged them to leave the city.  When Paul and Silas left the prison, they returned to the home of Lydia.  There they met with the believers and encouraged them once more.  Then they left town."

Psalm of the day!!

Psalm 92:

"It is good to give thanks to the LORD,
to sing praises to the Most High.
It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning,
your faithfulness in the evening,
accompanied by a ten-stringed instrument, a harp and the melody of a lyre.

You thrill me, LORD, with all you have done for me!
I sing for joy because of what you have done.
O LORD, what great works you do!
And how deep are your thoughts.
Only a simpleton would not know,
and only a fool would not understand this:
Though the wicked sprout like weeds
and evildoers flourish,
they will be destroyed forever.

But you, O LORD will be exalted forever.
Your enemies, LORD will surely perish;
all evildoers will be scattered.
But you have made me as strong as a wild ox.
You have anointed me with the finest oil.
My eyes have seen the downfall of my enemies;
my ears have heard the defeat of my wicked opponents.
But the godly will flourish like Palm trees and grow strong like cedars of Lebanon.

For they are transplanted to the LORD'S own house.
They flourish in the courts of our God.

Even in old age they will still produce fruit;
they will remain vital and green.
They will declare, "The LORD is just!
He is my Rock!
There is no evil in him!"

Psalm 100:

"Shout with joy to the LORD, all the earth!
Worship the LORD with gladness.
Come before him, singing with joy.
Acknowledge that the LORD is God!
He made us, and we are his.
We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the LORD is good.
His unfailing love continues forever,
and his faithfulness continues to each generation."

2.  "I will certainly bless you.  I will multiply your descendants beyond number, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore.  Your descendants will conquer the cities of their enemies."

3.  "For example, there was God's promise to Abraham.  Since there was no one greater swear by, God took an oath in his own name, saying; "I will certainly bless you, and I will multiply your descendants beyond number."

4.  "You are the children of those prophets, and you are included in the covenant God promised to your ancestors.  For God said to Abraham, 'Through your descendants all the families on earth will be blessed."

5.  "Yes, think about Abraham, your ancestor, and Sarah, who gave birth to your nation.  Abraham was only one man when I called him.  But when I blessed him, he became a great nation."

6.  "When they arrived at the place where God had told him to go.  Abraham built an altar and arranged the wood on it.  Then he tied his son, Isaac, and laid him on the altar on top of the wood."

7.  "Don't lay a hand on the boy!" the angel said.  "Do not hurt him in any way, for now I know that you truly fear God.  You have not withheld from me even your son, your only son."

8.  "And Abraham picked up the knife to kill his son as a sacrifice."

9.  "Then Abraham waited patiently, and he received what God has promised."

10.  "And through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed - all because you have obeyed me."

2.  "So the promise is received by faith.  It is given as a free gift.  And we are all certain to receive it, whether or not we live according the law of Moses, if we have faith like Abraham's.  For Abraham is the father of all who believe."

3.  "And so a whole nation came from this one man who was as good as dead - a nation with so many people that, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore, there is no way to count them."

4.  "I will confirm my covenant with you and your descendants after you, from generation to generation.  This is the everlasting covenant:  I will always be your God and the God of your descendants after you."

5.  "Abraham never wavered in believing God's promise.  In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God."

9.  "And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: "Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.  He was even called the friend of God."

10.  "And Abraham's faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead - and so was Sarah's womb."

11.  "Abraham reasoned that if Isaac died, God was able to bring him back to life again.  And in a sense, Abraham did receive his son back from the dead."

4.  Deuteronomy 34:
5.  Exodus 16:
6.  Matthew 14:

1.  "These are the LORD'S instructions: Each household should gather as much as it needs.  Pick up two quarts for each person in your tent."

2.  "Then he told the people to sit down on the grass, Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them.  Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he gave the bread to the disciples, who distributed it to the people.

3.  "The Israelites called the food manna.  It was white like coriander seed, and it tasted like honey wafers.  Then Moses said, "This is what the LORD has commanded: Fill a two-quart container with manna to preserve it for your descendants.  Then later generations will be able to see the food I gave you in the wilderness when I set you free from Egypt."

4.  "The true bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."

5.  "But some of them didn't listen and kept some of it until morning.  But by then it was full of maggots and had a terrible smell.  Moses was very angry with them.  After this the people gathered the food morning by morning, each family according to its need.  And as the sun became hot, the flakes they had not picked up melted and disappeared."

6.  "Give us today the food we need."

7.  "There has never been another prophet in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face."

8.  "I speak to him face to face, clearly, and not in the riddles! He sees the LORD as he is.  So why were you not afraid to criticize my servant Moses?"

9.  "My Father has entrusted everything to me.  No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."

10.  "But I know him because I come from him, and he sent me to you."

11.  "With mighty power, Moses performed terrifying acts in the sight of all Israel."

12.  "Jesus also did many other things.  If they were all written down, I suppose the whole world could not contain the books that would be written."
