Abraham - The father of nations!

1.  "For he has made this promise to our ancestors, to Abraham and his children forever."

2.  "I will certainly bless you.  I will multiply your descendants beyond number, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore.  Your descendants will conquer the cities of their enemies."

3.  "For example, there was God's promise to Abraham.  Since there was no one greater swear by, God took an oath in his own name, saying; "I will certainly bless you, and I will multiply your descendants beyond number."

4.  "You are the children of those prophets, and you are included in the covenant God promised to your ancestors.  For God said to Abraham, 'Through your descendants all the families on earth will be blessed."

5.  "Yes, think about Abraham, your ancestor, and Sarah,who gave birth to your nation.  Abraham was only one man when I called him.  But when I blessed him, he became a great nation."

6.  "When they arrived at the place where God had told him to go.  Abraham built an altar and arranged the wood on it.  Then he tied his son, Isaac, and laid him on the altar on top of the wood."

7.  "Don't lay a hand on the boy!" the angel said.  "Do not hurt him in any way, for now I know that you truly fear God.  You have not withheld from me even your son, your only son."

8.  "And Abraham picked up the knife to kill his son as a sacrifice."

9.  "Then Abraham waited patiently, and he received what God has promised."

10.  "And through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed - all because you have obeyed me."
